Dear Franklin Regional Families,
The first day of school is quickly approaching on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and below are important details and reminders for accessing the elementary campus, the 6–12 campus as construction projects are still in progress, and Home Football games at the stadium. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Your understanding and compliance with the procedures below are vital to ensuring safe and efficient navigation of FR campuses.
Elementary (K–5) Procedures
Elementary Arrival (Parent Drop-Off)
Student arrival will begin at 8:45 am.
Upon entering campus, a “traffic loop” will be created that allows parents to quickly “drop and go” within that loop.
There will be NO PARKING. Please do not plan to walk your child into school.
Staff members will be on duty to receive students. We ask that students be fully prepared (backpacks, lunches, and good-byes completed) to make a quick exit from the car. If possible, please have students on the passenger side of the vehicle so they can exit on the sidewalk side.
Students in grades 3–5 with siblings in grades K–2 will exit their vehicles at the Primary School. They will wait in the LOBBY with staff supervision, and a bus will transport them to the intermediate building at 8:55 a.m.
Elementary Dismissal (Parent Pick-Up)
FRPS and FRIS continue to work closely with the municipality to keep dismissal traffic on Sardis Road and Crowfoot Road moving safely and smoothly. During the 26–27 school year, please help all of our learners get home efficiently by following the guidelines below:
Do not arrive before 3:10 p.m. Early arrivals create significant traffic backups on municipal roads and could create unsafe conditions.
Plan to arrive between 3:15–3:40 p.m. for student pickup.
Panther Shuttle families: If you are picking up a student arriving from the Intermediate School, please do not arrive before 3:25 p.m. to allow for shuttle transition and reduce congestion.
Remain in your car at all times. School staff will assist students as needed.
Stay alert and close to the car in front of you to use all available space while waiting in line to keep traffic moving efficiently.
6–12 Campus Procedures
Arrival and Dismissal
Please note that the road running behind the tennis courts and in front of the stadium will be closed to the public due to continued construction. However, to support efficient arrival and dismissal, the road will open during the following times:
6:30–8:30 a.m.
1:30–3:30 p.m.
If you are traveling to the 6–12 campus outside of the times listed above, please avoid this section of the campus.
Walkers
Students walking to the middle and high schools must avoid construction zones upon entering campus. Walkers who enter campus from School Road should follow the procedures below:
Middle School: Using the crosswalk, cross School Road, turn left, and walk through the Newlongsburg Administration Parking lot to access the middle school.
High School: Using the crosswalk, cross School Road, turn right, and use the top road entrance off of School Road to access the high school.
Parking at Home Football Games
Friday home football games are scheduled for 8/28, 9/4, 9/25, 10/2, and 10/16, with kickoff at 7 p.m. On-campus parking will be limited for games, and the district is continuing to work with its construction partners to develop a solution.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping make arrival and dismissal to our campuses safe and efficient.
Sincerely,
FR Communications
