After careful consideration, FRSD will conduct Remote Instruction for the remainder of the week (Thursday, Jan. 29–Friday, Jan. 30). All evening activities will occur as scheduled. While we recognize that in-person instruction is ideal, student and staff safety remains our top priority.
While many roadways are clear and conditions are improving, several bus stops are unsafe, and some rural roads remain impassable for school buses due to snow piles, narrowed roadways, and limited space to move snow. Additionally, weather forecasts predict dangerously low temperatures, making road salt less effective. By continuing to provide education through Remote Learning Days (RIDs), students will continue to learn safely, and the district is able to remain fully compliant with state law.
FRSD would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the Franklin Regional facilities team and the Delmont, Export, and Murrysville Municipalities for their continued efforts to provide safe pathways to and from school during this unprecedented weather event.
If you have any questions, please contact your student’s principal or teacher. Thank you for your continued support and flexibility, and we look forward to seeing students back in the buildings on Monday, Feb. 2.
Thank you.
