PlaySchool Program

The Franklin Regional Senior High School’s (FRSH) Playschool program is a preschool-age play program that is open to any child who is 3, 4, or 5 years old.  This program serves as a learning laboratory for Child Development II students at FRSH.

The emphasis for Playschool is children learning through play.  The program explores fine and gross motor skills through a variety of activities such as dancing and making crafts.  The children sing, listen to stories, and visit the FRSH library.  This gives children an opportunity to learn language as well as letter and word recognition.  A dramatic play center is also offered where children can use their creative imaginations.  The children participate in circle time where they dress the Weather Bear, say the Pledge of Allegiance, count, and learn the days of the week.  There are rotating activities for the children to participate in during circle time.  Playschool children also experience the science and art centers along with the most popular activity, free play, where students can explore all of the wonderful toys, games, and puzzles throughout FR’s classrooms.
